In June 2002, I traveled 7,000 miles to conduct a three-day workshop for ADRA Mongolia.
Based in the capital city of Ulan Bator, ADRA Mongolia is a development and relief
agency with projects in education, food security, health, micro-enterprise, adventure-based
learning, and agriculture. The organization has nearly quadrupled in size over the
past three years and is now staffed by 36 Mongolians and a dozen other people from
eight countries. During our three days together, team members developed ways to work
together more effectively amid fast growth, rich diversity, and their project-team
focus.
As the workshop leader, my role was to coach and facilitate. But from the moment
I stepped from the plane, I also was a learner. Wherever you go in Mongolia, there
are rich discoveries waiting to be made.
I returned home eager to share these discoveries. That's the purpose of this photo
gallery. It captures images and insights from a part of the world that most people
rarely think about. Click here to begin ... and enjoy the
trip!
